WISP A special driver has been developed for WISP to permit WISP to work directly with the Kansas City Tracker/Tuner (KCT) without requiring the KCT TSR to be loaded. This driver will also be radio specific for the Kansas City Tuner functions. The driver is on this diskette. It is compressed and must be decompressed with PKUNZIP. However it is advisable to decompress it in a seperate directory and read the installation instructions after you have installed the WISP files. This will avoid getting the driver files mixed in with the WISP files. When you install this driver, you must not have the regular KCT TSR programs loaded, or they will fight each other for control of the rotors. READ THE GETSTART.TXT FILE FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON INSTALLING THE WISP PROGRAM. WISP documentation is contained in Help messages. In most windows, clicking on the "?" button will provide WISP context sensitive help screens. A WISP.HLP file has been copied as a readable text file in WISPHELP.TXT for those of you desiring to print it out. This file may not be completely up to date with the latest WISP.HLP file. Future updates to WISP will be made available via satellite. You can download them using this version of WISP. The files are generally addressed to WISP from G7UPN/ZL2TPO on satellite KO-25 or KO-23. The WISP files will be available on the DRIG BBS, 214-394-7438, in Dallas,TX. They are also available on the Internet at the AMSAT anonymous ftp site. The Internet ftp site address is ftp.amsat.org or you can use the IP address, 192.35.156.5. The ZIP file will be named WISPyynn.ZIP where yy will be the year number and nn will be the issue number in that year. They will be found in the /amsat/software/windows/wisp directory. They are also available from the AMSAT Internet Web site, http://www.amsat.org. WINDOWS NOTE: Don't forget to setup your Windows serial port parameters. You can do this by selecting the Control Panel from the Main window. From there you can select Ports to gain access to setting the communications parameters. Select your port speed (usually 9600 or 19200 bps) and set the other parameters to 8 data bits, no parity, one stop bit and Hardware flow control. Also don't forget to set up your Windows Virtual Memory. Click on Main, Control Panel and 386 Enhanced to get there. REGISTRATION - WiSP is a fully functional program. It will, however, prompt you to register the program with AMSAT for a nominal contribution. These contributions support the construction and launching of the Radio Amateur Satellites that WiSP is designed to use. At the present time all contributions are applied to the support of the Phase 3D satellite. You do not have to register to make use of the program, but each message the user sends from an unregistered copy will have a notification in the message header that the user is using an unregistered copy. Other users will be able to see this notification. You may register with the following AMSAT organizations: AMSAT-NA 850 Sligo Ave. #601 Silver Spring, MD 20910 USA TEL: 301-589-6062 AMSAT-UK 94 Herongate Rd.
